The Diligence Awards is a prestigious black-tie charity ball launched in 2017 by Nancy King, founder of the Adell Foundation Corporation, a respected nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. The primary objective of this event is to raise $150,000 in support of our advocacy efforts against human trafficking and homelessness. Nancy King has been steadfast in her commitment to recognizing individuals and local organizations dedicated to addressing critical societal issues such as hunger, homelessness, human trafficking, poverty, and family breakdown.
The awards ceremony distinguishes itself with nine categories inspired by the Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
In 2020, the Adell Foundation was renamed the Adell & Patricia Foundation in honor of Nancy King and Felicia Bellinger, Executive Director, in tribute to their mothers.
The event also features two prestigious scholarships: the Adell Crims-Buchannan Award for Excellence in Ministry and the Patricia West Award for Excellence in Education. Additionally, 20 individuals will be honored with the United States of America Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and nine of these recipients will also receive the esteemed Diligence Award.
"The Diligence Awards Charity Ball is a cornerstone fundraising event in our community, dedicated to combating homelessness, hunger, human trafficking, and poverty in our service areas," emphasized Nancy King, President and CEO of The Adell & Patricia Foundation. "Our committee has orchestrated an evening of elegance and philanthropy, providing an opportunity to dine, dance, and celebrate while steadfastly supporting our mission.
The Lifetime Achievement Diligence Award alone recognizes educational advocacy, workforce development, business development, community outreach professionals, and faith-based and political activists who have excelled at this difficult discipline throughout their professional careers.
This honor is not solely for those who have retired or about to but could also recognize an individual who will continue in the credit union workspace for some time to come and has made a monumental impact.
It’s an honor not easily won, and even less frequently bestowed. But it’s of vital importance in its measure of excellence, and The Adell Foundation's most prestigious honor.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) was created to acknowledge the importance of volunteers and the amazing impact they make on America every day. The Adell Foundation wants to help celebrate the volunteers who have benefited our communities and community partners throughout the years. Therefore went through the process to become a certifying organization in 2022.
Being a Certifying Organization means that The Adell Foundation has been granted the authority by the United States of America's President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation to award the PVSA to exceptional volunteers. Volunteers must go through a Certifying Organization in order to receive the PVSA.
In addition to receiving a personalized certificate signed by the President, volunteers will also be able to join a community of people dedicated to making their communities a better place.
There are four awards that volunteers are able to apply for: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Lifetime Achievement.
The Diligence Awards is the Adell Foundations largest volunteer recognition ceremony. All eligible nominees will be recognized, but one nominee from each subcategory is selected to receive a Diligence Award. One recipient of the PVCSA will be selected to receive The Adell Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award for dedicating multiple years of service to an organization/cause that serves humanity.
The minimum hour requirement for one of the Adell Foundation's competitive adult awards is 100 hours. Recipients who are nominated will have the opportunity to be awarded the Adell Crims-Buchanan Award for outstanding volunteerism in ministry, such as praise dancers, musicians, choir directors, worship leaders, and community service in the ministry of helps. Recipients are awarded annually during our Volunteer Awards Ceremony in October.
